The residents of Karachi are advised to keep themselves hydrated as the 'feels like' temperature has reached 45°C on Wednesday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The metropolis is currently experiencing a severe heatwave.
As of now, the actual temperature in Karachi is recorded at 39°C with a humidity level of 43%. Winds are blowing from the southwest at a speed of 18 to 20 kilometers per hour.
The Meteorological Department has predicted a significant rise in the mercury level in the port city starting today, with temperatures expected to surpass the 40°C mark.

The Met Office stated that heatwave conditions are expected to affect Karachi, Thatta, Badin, and Sujawal districts from today until June 1. During this period, daytime maximum temperatures are expected to rise to 40-42°C in Karachi and 42-44°C in Thatta, Badin, and Sujawal.
Earlier today, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz indicated that Karachi's temperature is expected to reach 40°C or more. He added that the temperature might rise to 42°C over the next two days as Sindh is currently experiencing severe heat.
Sarfraz also mentioned that rural areas of Sindh have witnessed temperatures as high as 53°C this season. He noted that in 2017, Turbat recorded a temperature of 54°C, the highest in Pakistan's history.
Today, the Met Department recorded temperatures of 50°C in Jacobabad at 2 pm, 49°C in Larkana, Sibi, and Dadu, 48°C in Shaheed Benazirabad, 47°C in Rohri, 46°C in Rahim Yar Khan, Bhakkar, and Lahore, 44°C in Faisalabad, and 41°C in Islamabad and Peshawar, while Karachi recorded 39°C.
